Announcing a New Podcast Collaboration
I'll be teaming up with one of the most dynamic leaders in the profession.
Hey there, I’m Zach Abramowitz here with some day-after-leap-day-disruption!
Today’s edition of Zach Abramowitz is Legally Disrupted is packed with excitement. Yesterday, the American Arbitration Assocation and my company Killer Whale Strategies announced that CEO and President Bridget McCormack will be teaming up with me this year to produce the “AAAi Podcast.” You can see that announcement here: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/zachabramowitz_aaai-lab-podcast-and-vodcast-activity-7169285428401922048-rR-2
Whenever I think about content (both paid and unpaid), my question is always, why would someone choose to pay attention to our content, especially when there’s already great content available? Both Bob Ambrogi and Chad Main do a phenomenal job recording interviews with legal entrepreneurs and innovators, and this week I listened to a great podcast with Pablo Arredondo on the “Geek in Review Podcast.” So, there’s no shortage of good podcasts out there. To make content people truly want, it’s got to showcase a perspective you simply could not get anywhere else. Meaning, even if you already listen to Bob, Chad or the Geeks (all of which I recommend), you will still find value listening to us. Let me make the case that you should subscribe:
Inside the AAA: In case you haven’t heard, the AAA is going all in on AI. In fact, the aforementioned Bob Ambrogi covered that recently on his podcast. The AAAi podcast is going to give the industry a live look into what — and more importantly how — the AAA is building their AI program in real time. I’m hoping that other segments of the legal ecosystem will follow the AAA’s blueprint. This is an unfolding story you simply cannot get anywhere else.
Shared interest, different perspectives: Bridget and I could not have more different backgrounds. Before she was CEO & President of the AAA, Bridget was Chief Justice of the Michigan State Supreme Court and a former professor at University of Michigan Law School. I, on the other hand, am a former practicing M&A attorney that left to start and invest in businesses. I am the founding partner of Killer Whale Strategies, and an investor in several legal tech startups. The overlap in our Venn diagram is our passion for AI and our conviction that AI holds the promise to make things better. So, despite our backgrounds, when I talk AI with Bridget it feels like I’m talking to my soul sister. Our radically different backgrounds combined with our shared enthusiasm promises to create something unique.
Our commitment is to record 12 podcasts this year, each of which will be released on the last Thursday of each month, but we decided to get greedy and release the first two episodes at once, both of which we recorded last month at Legalweek in New York. Plus, I’ll let you know right here on ZAILD each time we release new episodes, but if you want to go ahead and put “AAAi Podcast Viewing” in your calendar for the last Thursday of each month, that would totally not be overkill. Now, you never want your firstborn to get jealous when the new baby comes home, so I’ll still be recoding “Legally Disrupted” and plan at least 10 episodes this year in addition to our webinars, the first of which was yesterday.
Links to the AAAi podcast with all the various platforms + the videos of the conversations which are really high quality so, if you prefer a viewing experience, check those out AAAi Lab Podcast and Vodcast (adr.org) If you’ve got suggestions for topics or guests, let me know in the comments.
