Ok, so if someone asked you to explain the difference between AI and “Generative AI,” would you be able to answer confidently?
I often speak with execs responsible for spearheading AI adoption in their organizations (not just law firms, but big corporates as well). When I ask them this question, they squirm. The problem is that without understanding this difference, it’s nearly impossible to come to terms with the fact that we’re living through a real paradigm shift, never mind to try to communicate that to others. If you’re trying to persuade people in your organization to adopt GenAI, or at the very least take it seriously, you need to be able to explain the difference between legacy AI and all this new stuff. Otherwise, to them, it’s all just a bunch more underwhelming “Hey Siris.”
Over the past year, I’ve been briefing legal organizations of all shapes and sizes about AI. Next Thursday at 11am Eastern/8am Pacific/4pm UK I’m going to share some of those insights in the inaugural episode of the Legally Disrupted Webinar Series.
But that’s not all.
In addition to understanding the significance of this moment, you want to be able to vet your tech vendors and make sure they understand the importance of AI. Any serious company should be able to show you their AI roadmap. To help us with that, I will also have with me on the webinar Dan Hauck, the Chief Product Officer of NetDocuments and Scott Kelly, NetDocuments’ AI and Automation Product Lead. What really qualifies NetDocuments to opine on this issue is that they were born out of one of the last tech paradigm shifts: the Cloud. Both Dan and Scott started companies that were acquired by NetDocuments. After I give an intro to Generative AI and show you how to understand the difference and explain it to others, I am then going to turn to Dan to learn how NetDocument sees AI impacting software and document management more specifically. Finally, Scott will give a live demonstration of some of NetDocuments’ newest AI features.
Our goal is to arm you with the tools you need, both conceptual and practical, to put you ahead of the conversation on AI with your colleagues, peers and tech partners. Registration is limited, so make sure to sign up now!

We will have time for Q&A, so if you’ve got questions you’d like answered on the webinar, drop them in the comments.
