Register for today's webinar at 2pm Eastern with Y Combinator's Head of Legal and Partnerships
For anyone following #legaltech (which if you’re subscribed to this email newsletter you likely are), you know that Y Combinator has been one of the most active VCs investing in legal. Ironclad, Casetext, SimpleLegal (acquired by Onit), Legalist and Darrow are merely the first five that come to mind, but there are many more. What you may not know — or rather WHO you may not know — are the married couple (both of whom are ex-Wilson Sonsini) behind these investments: Carolynn and Jon Levy. Although they rarely do interviews, I would argue that the Levys may be the most influential legal industry disruptors today. Not only have they normalized the notion of Silicon Valley firms investing in early stage legal tech companies, but they have also been responsible for changing the mechanism of financing both in documents — Carolynn created the SAFE back in 2013 — and product/process through YC portfolios like Clerky and Stripe Atlas.
Today, I will have the chance to interview the Levys about their unique career trajectory, their views on legaltech and best practices they’ve seen for building and scaling a legal department inside a high growth startup. This webinar is not to be missed, make sure to sign up and register using this link.
